October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month
As part of CAP’s on-going partnership with Cisco Networking Academy, a fall cohort will soon be open for CAP members to register. The cohort will run 1 October through 31 December 2021. This fall, all CAP NetAcad courses will be offered in Spanish!
Maj Bill Blatchley will resume biweekly Civil Air Patrol CyberPatriot coaches meetings on Wed, Sep 29th. Registration for CyberPatriot XIV teams closes Oct 5th.
After a complete rebranding and forced hiatus in 2020 due to COVID-19, the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) National Cyber Academy (CNCA) was held in Hampton this past month with full support and interest from both adults (senior members) and cadets (ages 14 through 20).
Lt Col Paul Creed III will be retiring entirely from CAP Cyber Programs, effective 1 August 2021.
Through a new partnership with the Marine Corps Junior ROTC program, 15 seats are available to CAP cadets.
Civil Air Patrol’s (CAP) Mid-Atlantic Region (MAR) offered its first weekend cyber security virtual camp on April 23-25. Twenty-five CAP cadets, ages 12-18, attended the training to solidify their knowledge and expand their interest.
The Quantico Cyber Hub, located in Stafford, VA, is offering the opportunity to apply for FREE CompTIA Courses (A+, Net +, Sec +).
